Norfolk Food Discovery: Great Yarmouth allotment Jan 2013

The smartest allotment in all the land (well Great Yarmouth anyway)
Just popped in the check on our allotment and it's looking pretty smart.  The paths have been lined with membrane and then woodchips on top and we've had new seating put in too.

New seating arrangements!
Each school has 5 beds; one each for beans, onions, potatoes, carrots and courgettes. We will plant other things in amongst these but they are the main groups.

North Denes veg beds: broad beans, onions, potatoes, carrots & courgettes
Each school group (roughly 30 children) is split into 5 groups with responsibility for a certain bed.

Herman Primary School veg beds: broad beans, onions, potatoes & carrots (I forgot the picture of the courgette patch)

We also have a polytunnel on site which gets split into three; 1 bit for each school.  In here we grow tomatoes, early courgettes and some salad crops.
